Dairy Cottage 1
![]()
New for 2007 is the playbarn for that final bit of exercise before turning in
In 1999 the old milking parlour was beautifully converted into two cosy cottages specifically for holiday accomodation. They are semi detached and although a mirror image of each other have slight differences in layout.
Cottage 1 has two bedrooms, a double that can also accommodate a folding bed (“Z” bed) for a young person and a further twin room; hence this property can accomodate five persons.
The living area is open plan and the vaulted, beamed ceilings with skylights allow an abundance of light into this comfortable room.
The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, hob, fridge, washer/dryer, microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee machine. There is also a full range of crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils – all that you should need. Tea-towels, hand towel and oven gloves are provided.
There is a separate bathroom and toilet, with the bath having mixer taps, a shower attachment and shower screen.
Access to the front doors of the cottages is via your own private garden and up shallow wooden steps to your own raised decking area, which has garden table and chairs. The decking also forms a verandah for the double bedrooms with uninterrupted views across the farm and paddocks to the fields beyond.

The vaulted ceilings in the living area give a light, spacious feel to the room. Double glazing, effective insulation and all electric central heating mean the cottages remain cosy even in the depths of winter

The double room can also accomodate a Z-bed for younger guests or a cot (available on request) as required

These pictures were taken in 2006 and since then the fence has been replaced, providing a secure garden area for your dog. Cottage 1 is on the left
The concrete play area in the foreground leads to grassed areas and into the playbarn so whatever the weather, Mattingley provides a safe, fun environment for children of all ages. Once the gate is closed, there is no access to the road so you can rest assured your children will be safe. Also, in order to unload you can drive around to park temporarily right outside your cottage.
