Wellow is easy to get to by almost any mode of transport
Wellow is a small, quiet hamlet about 9 miles from Newport which is the administrative centre of the island, and about two miles east of Yarmouth, the nearest ferry port. Apart from a post office and vineyard, there is little else to disturb the peace of Wellow which makes it ideal for those seeking a tranquil setting for their holiday. Nonetheless, it is easy to get to any part of the island using pretty much any mode of transport from car, cycle, horseback or foot. The Hamstead Trail runs adjacent to Mattingley Farm giving direct access onto the island's bridal and footpath network.
